Dermatographism: This is a heightened sensitivity of your skin and an allergic type reaction to something internal or external. Stimuli could be foods, medications, temperature, etc. Often the inciting cause is unknown. If you cannot get relief with antihistamines like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin(nondrowsy), consult an allergist who may prescribe atarax (hydroxyzine) as well as attempt to determine the cause
