Can you get valley fever again after you have had it, about 4 years ago

Coccidioidomycosis: The medical name for valley fever. Do you live in the San Joaquim valley? As you are aware it causes an acute febrile illness that is usually self limiting. If your fever was due to cocci, then there is probably some other cause for this recurrence. How are you feeling generally? If your symptoms persist contact a local doctor. Best wishes

Valley Fever: Relapses have rarely been described with Valley Fever but it would be very unlikely to have a second infection with it. Coccidioidomycosis is a fungal infection found in desert soil. It may have no sx's or cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, low fever, night sweats, headache, muscle/joint pain, rash, weight loss. I Dx is via serologic tests for coccidioidomycosis or cultures.
