Eustachian tubes: are the tiny tubes which allow the pressure in your inner ear to be adjusted to the outside Barometric pressure. Blowing your nose or swallowing opens these tubes which "empty" into your inner nose (see diagram) This is what I believe is happening! Hope this helps! DR Z
