A member asked:

Can deviated septum with prominent spur and nasal valve collapse cause recurrent sinus infections even if ct scan said sinus were well ventilated?

Nasal obstruction: Excellent question! Remember that the sinus CT scan just captures one moment in time. You might have recurrent sinusitis instead of chronic sinusitis. You might have allergy symptoms mistaken for sinusitis. Deviated septum can definitely obstruct sinus clearance. But so can unnecessary sinus surgery! See an ENT specialist in rhinoplasty AND sinus surgery for best results to your problem.

Deviated septum: A deviated septum is not an uncommon problem. It can lead to nasal obstruction, snoring and even sinus issues. You only need surgery if you are having symptoms. If there are symptoms like nasal obstruction, snoring or recurrent sinusitis, have your nose evaluated by a board certified otolaryngologist.
