Pregnancy dating...: Pregnancy dating starts a pregnancy at the start of the last menstrual period, which is about 2 weeks prior to conception. Thus, if an ultrasound dating estimate is "5 weeks pregnant", then the conception estimate is "3 weeks ago" plus or minus one week. Dates are estimates. I'll say that again, "Dates are estimates." An ultrasound scan at 8-11 weeks can give a more accurate estimate.
