Need More Info: Lumps and bumps in and on the soft tissues or bones of the head and neck can be from a number of different causes, some may be anomalies in the structures of the head and neck, others may be related to some pathology. Black mucus would not be considered normal. Your GF should see her primary MD for evaluation of the bump and her black mucus.

Not sure they are: related. Many times the lump under the chin is a cyst. The mucus if really black needs checked out by an ENT doctor. The cyst should resolve on its own and probably will not need treatment if left alone. Recommend talking to your doc about the black mucous.
