Gastritis: Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining and the most serious complication would be bleeding. This could be manifested by the vomiting of frank blood or coffee grounds like material or by the passage of black,tarry stools. Most cases do very well by following a bland diet, avoiding alcohol,tobacco and excessive intake of caffeine, and by taking medication like prilosec for a few weeks
