See medical provider: The biggest concern after a torn calf muscle with continued swelling is to make sure you haven't developed a blood clot (DVT) in your calf. You should see a provider to rule out a DVT. Once this has been ruled out, it takes a muscle tear 6-8 weeks to heal, but you may have swelling longer than that in your calf/ankle. You should probably be in a walking boot to help the healing process.
