Probably not: If you had constipation then had a bowe movement. The stool can stretch your rectal area and cause bleeding. This is a rectal fissure. If you have no history of colon problems , give the symptoms a day or so. Now, if you have persistent bleeding after a day or so or if bleeding would get markedly worse get checked.

...Not immediately: 30 y/o female says, Constipation X 2 days, BM this morning. Noticed lots of bright red blood w/BM. Looked like when having menses but not having menses. Do I call dr? Probably not immediately. Seems forcing BM through a hard constipation might have abraded (scratched) the lining of rectum to cause some bleeding. Hemorrhoids might also be the issue if Constipation is chronic challenge.
