NO choice: You may have no choice, pain may be from infection , swelling, or pressure as the teeth try to erupt. You should see yor dentist to be evaluated before you. Have a serious issue.

Wisdom teeth: If your wisdom teeth are infected which is why you ate experiencing discomfort than it is recommended to extract them as soon as possible.

Discuss risks: You should discuss risk and benefits with you dentist. I assume you are afraid of something, schedule a consult with your doc, and ask about sleep/sedation dentistry. It not going to get any easier as you age. And you don't want to be taking antibiotics over and over again.
