Surgical treatment: Some bartholins abscesses can be caused by STds like gonorrhea and chlamydia but most are not. If this is a recurrent problem see and Obgyn and discuss the surgical options. A procedure called a Marsupialization can often prevent recurrences. In rare cases excision of the gland can be done.
