Reflex testing: When most Obgyn’s order a pap smear we order a HPV test to be done if the result is abnormal. Some order the HPV test on all pap smears if the woman is over 30 years old. It sounds like you are reading the pap order form and not the pap results. Check with your doctor to verify if this is the case.
