A member asked:

What to do if my creatinine levels are 5.9?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. James Lin answered

Check with doc...: How long has it taken to reach 5.9 mg/dl and what is and are BUN (blood urea nitrogen) and electrolytes? And how has your overall clinical picture? If acute and modifiable, some improvement may take place; if chronic, likely you are on the course for dialysis and kidney transplant if feasible. So, check with your nephrologist for the best possible pertinent advice.
