Acute Pancreatitis: Alcohol is responsible for approximately 30 percent of cases of acute pancreatitis in the United States. Enzymes to break down the fat one eats comes from the pancreas and if you inflame the pancreas with high levels of alcohol this can lead to fat malbsorption. Fat malabsorption can manifest as yellow stools.
