Examination advised: Persistent constipation with cramping and thin stools could indicate partial colon obstruction from inflammatory bowel disease, endometriosis, adhesions(if you've had old abdominal surgery), diverticulitis but also could be due to irritable bowel syndrome or laxative abuse. I would discontinue laxatives and get examined by your physician or a gastroenterologist.
