A member asked:

My complement, alternative pathway test result =59% of norm. standard range of lab >46% of norm. is my result normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Numbers are just...: Numbers are just numbers. Without the whole picture, such as why was labwork done, numbers usually cannot tell much. The result value in this question, shows that the result is in the "normal range" or "reference range". Therefore, the number 59 is "normal" (because it is bigger than 46) but one should ask her ordering doctor if the result is ok in the setting of her whole picture.
