A member asked:

I got my period 2 weeks after my last period, it is day 5 and it is still bright red. i usually am very regular. what could this mean? i am 41

Timing: Two weeks after your period would be 21 days, first day to first day of bleeding. Normal cycle length is anywhere from 21-32 days. So, theoretically you still fall in the normal range. As you walk along life's continuum, you ovulate less regularly, giving rise to more irregular cycles. Keep a menstrual calendar so that you can discuss patterns with your provider and your annual exam.
