Vertigo?: On first read, the combination of dizziness (room spinning sensation, not lightheadedness) and nausea could be vertigo or labyrinthitis, the latter being due to an infection or inflammation within the inner ear that disrupts the balance mechanism therein. If you're due for surgery, you may want the doctor to comment on this. Shouldn't affect the surgery, but may worsen still thereafter.
