Bile: Bile is manufactured in the liver and then stored in the gall bladder where it is secreted into the upper intestinal tract after a fatty meal. The meal releases a hormone, cholecystokinin, which stimulates gall bladder contraction thereby secreting the bile. When the gall bladder has been removed, the liver can release Bile through the biliary ducts directly into the digestive tract.
