My 2 year old has a dry hacking cough when she sleeps. no stridor or wheezing. what can i do to ensure it does not turn in to something worse?

Mgt: One possible cause are allergies and another is reflux and aspiration. Post nasal drip if there is congestion usually causes a wet cough. If there is a parental history of allergies,asthma and if she has had eczema and/or allergic reactions, these may be more likely to occur.
