Yes: Bleeding in pregnancy can be a sign of a miscarriage but it can also be caused by other things. However, depending on how good the ultrasound equipment is, and how certain the gestational age, its not always possible to see a heartbeat at 7 weeks. Sometimes, it will be seen if you wait a week or two and and look again. Best wishes!
