Lichen planis: There are numerous afflictions that affect the skin of different parts of the body. Skin sores or rashes, genital lesions and ulcers, and oral manifestations are common. If you have any oral lesions or markings of gums, lips or tongue, i would look into being tested for lichen planis. It is similar to some other diseases but not an infection from virus, bacteria, or yeast. See dermatologist.
