Location ?: If it is just below the kneecap at the top of the shin, it may just be the growth/attachment plate ofthe upper leg muscles. It can get lumpy/squishy/painful during the early part of the pre-teen/teen years.If it is further down the leg it is likely shin splints or a bone bruise. Your doc can figure it out.
