Not usually reported: In 35 years of medical practice, I don't think I've ever heard of incidentally finding a diseased VEIN in the neck when an ultrasound/CT/MR angiogram for carotid artery diagnosis. The most important thing to prevent if you have vein disease is a clot; you are already taking clopidogrel for this purpose. Vascular disease risk lowering (lipids, BP, non-smoking, weight, blood sugar) targets arteries.
