S/p dilatation c/p: Was the effusion after the dilatation or before? You can have a tiny perforation in procedures w/ pain from that or a tear. Is there pain when you press on chest? That is usually costochonrdritis. Would call GI doc ask about perforation, check CXR, videoesophagam or CT chest w/ barium ; also f/u w/ cardiologist for effusion. Effusions &mitral valve prolapse can cause pain. Call today
