There are: cartilages which unite your vertebrae (they are actually JOINTS) and they can make noise when pressure is put upon them (turning...stretching) Once you become "aware" of this NORMAL "noise" it seems more "prominent'!! Try IGNORING it! EXERCISE...and keep in mind AGING reduces the FLEXIBILITY of these cartilages and the noise will STOP ...NOT to be "looked forward to!" Hope this helps! Dr Z
