What causes uterine fibroids?

Unknown: Fibroids are benign muscle tumors of the uterus. No one knows their cause. Like many tumors (ie: breast lumps) their cause is unknown.

Nobody knows.: Uterine fibroids are benign growths of the uterus, but rarely they can turn into malignant tumors (sarcoma!) Nobody knows the cause of any tumors including fibroids.
