Itchy!: There are many reasons why your lower extremities can be itchy. It is not uncommon for winter weather to cause dry skin, topical moisturizer creams can aid with this dilemma. You do want to make sure that the itch is not caused due to an allergic reaction (think if there are any new products, exposures in your environment etc. Recently) if this problem persists see your pcp.

Moisturizing lotions: I like water-based moisturizing lotions. My favorites are dml lotion and dml forte cream. These are water based, and don't have any fragrences or colorings that could cause skin irritations. http://www.personandcovey.com/productdetail.asp?productid=19.
