Neuropathy?: Peripheral neuropathy due to diabetes or B12 deficiency tends to be burning and worse at night. Other possibilities include pinched nerves (like in cervical spine arthritis or disc disease), carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis involving your hands.

Carpal tunnel: Waking up with pain, or more specifically numbness in a hand is a very common sign of carpal tunnel syndrome. Could also be arthritis or a pinched nerve in the neck. There are more less common reasons, but you should see your doctor if it keeps bugging you.
