Chances of carrying:: 50% for you. Same 50% for baby fetus IF you or your girlfriend is a carrier. Zellweger syndrome is the most severe form of the Zellweger spectrum disorders. Inheritance is "autosomal recessive", which means both copies of the gene have mutations. Usually, the patient's parents each carry one copy of the mutated gene, but carriers typically do not show signs or symptoms of the disease.

Autosomal recessive: This is an autosomal recessive condition, meaning both your parents were "carriers" of the gene, but had no symptoms. Your sister inherited both of the abnormal genes (a 25% chance). There is a 2 in 3 chance that you inherited either your mom's or dad's abnormal gene and a 1 in 3 chance that you did not inherit any of the abnormal genes.
