Insult to injury: You are only going to make things worse. Aspirin is acidic and it will burn the tissue, causing further inflammation and probably more pain.

NO!: Aspirin made to be taken orally with copious water, not applied topically. Put directly on tissue will actually burn the area, retard healing, cause sloughing, and may leave a scar. ASPIRIN IS NOT TO BE USED TOPICALLY. Canker sore will heal on its own in 7-10 days. You can dab on, w Q-tip, Orabase-B (an OTC). Or you can block pain transmission by taking Aspirin or Advil (ibuprofen) as per pkg directions.
