Got a pinched sciatic nerve... what's your best suggestion for immediate relief???

Cortisone Injection: It is possible that you have a spasm of your piriformis muscle which sits upon your sciatic nerve. If this is the case, a shot of cortisone in that muscle will provide immediate relief. You might have something else, so following up with your primary care provider is important.

Couple choices: Perhaps you might respond to an epidural steroid injection at the sight of the compressed nerve root. But maybe a better approach is physical therapy. One caveat, do NOT rest and stay in bed, be active, up and about, as that will shorten debility.
