Post-nasal drainage: Your symptoms are probably just due to some post-nasal drainage which can cause throat pain/irritation and cough. Red and white sports on tonsils are not too concerning. The white spot is likely debris (called a tonsillolith). They are annoying but not dangerous. The red patch is probably from irritation from the drainage. Try antihistamine or steroid nose spray.
