Depends: Whether one should be hospitalized or not depends on the severity of the asthma. Although Pulmicort is not expected to cause a fever, there many other inhaled steroids available and thus it does no harm to just switch it to something else including inhaled steroid. Consider seeing a pediatric allergist .
