Laryngeal Fracture: The answer is yes. These injuries fall under the spectrum of laryngeal fractures. You can have airway issues as well as pain and swelling. It is rare but possible. Please follow up with ENT for endoscopy and imaging if you are having trouble. If you can't breath call 911 immediately

It is an uncommon: fracture, but yes,, if someone tried to strangle you with sufficient force, it could fracture the hyoid.
