Hemosiderin...: Sometimes the blood slows down as it begins it's flow back up the leg. This slowing can cause fluid to leak from the veins and stain the skin light brown. If concerned, have the patency of you leg veins checked. Then again, it could always be sun exposure, but I doubt it.

Venous insufficiency: the hemosiderin in the blood leaks out and stains the skin….microionized zinc oxide when applied frequently sometimes can help with the discoloration but you would have to deal with the venous insufficiency...
