Brown discharge: can represent some spotting that occurred many days ago. That can happen randomly or after sex. Or it might not even be old blood at all. It is difficult to tell. As long as you are not in severe pain, have a foul-smelling discharge, or bleeding heavily, there is nothing to do. If your next period happens normally, then there is nothing to worry about from this episode.
