Yeast infection : Your description sounds consistent with a yeast infection which would not be an uncommon thing to develop before your cycle. If there is a change in ph that can predispose as can the use of antibiotics or elevated sugars. Yeast infections , usually but not always, are described as itchy. If there has been sexual activity without the use of contraception and menses late then should do preg test.
