Not an STD: Apparently you have bacterial vaginosis. Gardnerella is one of many bacteria that overgrow in BV; it was once thought to be the cause, but probably is not. BV usually is not an STD. Although most frequent in sexually active women, it is common in others. If you douche, that might be the cause. Probably you are being treated with metronidazole, which should clear it up.
