Not typical: These symptoms are not characteristic of gerd and one wonders if you have a pharyngitis which is a throat infection caused by either a virus or the stretococcal bacterium. If your sore throat doesn't improve with warm salt water gargles and/or lozenges, have your physician examine you and order a rapid throat culture to check for a strep infection which would be treated with appropriate antibiotic

Yes: start taking protonix or nexium (esomeprazole) over the counter. watch your diet: No too much]h coffee, tea. No alcohol, Bland diet and see your PMD or GI . Eat by 6 PM dinner and nothing after that till your breakfast, only fluids basically water
