On saturday i had two positive at home tests. very faint though. yesterday i experienced some spotting and had a blood test drawn and it came back negative. could this mean that i had a miscarriage?

Yes, it may mean an: .. early miscarriage or failed pregnancy, HPG's can pick up the hormone shortly after the embryo implants in the uterus. However, up to 1 out of 3 early pregnancies fail to continue and result in what seems like a late menstrual period. A negative blood pregnancy test after a failed pregnancy means that your uterus has expelled the remnants of this pregnancy. In this circumstance, this is good.

Biochemical preg: You may have had a very early miscarriage called a biochemical pregnancy. This is when implantation begins to happen but then the pregnancy fails. HCG levels rise to low levels but then fall. Blood testing is more accurate than urine testing. This is an extremely common occurrence and, for the most part, nothing to worry about. Two or more miscarriages requires medical evaluation.
