Could be disc: Chronic pain in your back could be related to a disc issue such as degenerative disc disease. Other joints or muscles can also be a source for pain. If you would like a more definitive answer it may be helpful for you to see a spine md such as a physiatrist or spine surgeon.

Back pain in young: Young patients rarely need further evaluation for back pain as it is usually self-limiting. For mild symptoms, muscle pains are most common. Consider also disc herniation which may cause pain without sciatica. Stress fracture occurs in 5% of the population without any symptoms. If symptoms persist, then see your doc for a more specific evaluation.
