Surgery AND Holiday: It all depends of the condition you have. If is a cancer, I would have surgery If is cosmetic , I would go away. If is a hernia, and you never had problems, perhaps go away. If is a hernia and you had intermittent abdominal pain I would have surgery. Use common sense.

Surgical recovery: Recovery period is based on the type of surgery. Minor surgeries are ok. If it is major invasive surgery you may have to avoid air travel or prolonged sitting/immobility. Talk to to surgeon before you make plans
