A 41-year-old male asked:

Topical steroids: are VERY TEMPORARY and not in this day and age the way to treat psoriasis since they do NOT treat the disease ONLY the symptoms (defined areas of the rash) There are a number of treatments which treat the whole body both "topical" (light therapy) and BIOLOGICAL systemic medications! ope this helps! Sometimes: Occasionally an uncommon form of psoriasis is guttate psoriasis which is small red patches scattered on the body. This can be assocated with a strep infection. It is important to treat with low dose antibiotics for weeks to eradicate the strep and the guttate psoriasis may go into remission for extended periods of time.
