Dx of hip labral tear. doing pt for 6 wks then mra. what can i do for pain besides ice? ice is helpful but it causes stiffness then pain.

Modify activities: For immediate pain relief besides icing, an over the counter anti-inflammatory medication (ibuprofen 600mg every 8 hours) or Tylenol (acetaminophen) (500mg every 6 hours) can be used. Another key to treating labrum tears without surgery is to modify certain activities. In general, trying to avoid deep hip flexion with significant hip rotation can help. Labrum tears usually become more painful when hip is flexed
