Chronic Diarrhea: 19 year old lady with chronic diarrhea with weight loss. Studies show that chronic diarrhea can be split up into fatty or malabsorbtive states, inflammatory, or watery (watery is most common). According to the Mayo Clinic, post cholycystecomy chronic diarrhea is highly uncommon but may occur due to laxative effect of more bile entering the large intestine. You need a Gastroenterology consult.
