Bloodshot eyes: I suggest an eye exam first. Perhaps you are straining to focus your vision. Or are you wearing contact lenses that you should change or remove? Instead of Visine, try one of the artificial tears, such as Systane. The relief is temporary, but it may help. The hard part, but maybe most important, will be to reduce stress and get enough sleep. Drink plenty of water and avoid dehydration. Good luck.

Use other drops: Try naphcon-A or Opcon-A drops. They are over the counter and frequently get rid of red eye.
