Need veneer on incisor, how does the dentist make sure it matches the shape/ length of my other teeth when they make it.. i'm worried it won't match?

Look at other teeth: For shape & color For a filling/veneers you will look at the others teeth for help but you will also let the natural contours dictate the look as well. Shade should always be determined with the patients consent & if the shade matching its difficult I would send photos with the case to the lab for veneers

Speak with DDS: If the lab is local, the dentist can send you directly to the lab, if not, the dentist may take a photograph of the tooth and contralateral side to send or e-mail to the lab with the impression.

Photographs & Models: It's wise to whiten the teeth prior to placing veneers on the anterior teeth. Models and a diagnostic waxup of your teeth help the technician see the contours, symmetry and emergence profile of the teeth. Photographs are very important in helping the technician with this process. The photographs should be with shade tabs that closely match the gum, middle and incisal parts of the teeth.

Quality: That's what Dentist's do all day long every day. Choose your Dentist wisely. Seek "quality" rather than "bargain." If you are concerned seek treatment with a Prosthodontist, a Dentist who has completed an additional 2+ years of residency training in the restorative Dental arts.

Experience: Your dentist has been extensively trained in such matters. Together with the instructions to the technician, your restoration will be perfect.

Cosmetics: You're dentist will take photos, shade, models and work with a quality of experienced lab to create a beautiful veneer that will match your teeth. If working with a local lab the patient can go to the lab for a custom shade match with the lad technician.
