Facial numbness : Many causes. Depends on many variables such as if one sided or present equally on both sides, if acute or chronic, abrupt or insidious onset or insidious. Facial sensory nerves are transmitted through branches of the trigeminal nerve (fifth cranial nerve). Stroke is another consideration. A ct scan is not the best test unless acute onset.

Check MRI: It depends of severity of symptoms but you might consider requesting your doctor to order and MRI with and without contrast (it provides better detail of the brain).

See a neurologist: A cat scan which is normal and does not rule out all disease processes. A careful examination with a neurologist would determine the cause of the numbness. Numbness is a symptom and the treatment would be the underlying cause.
