Is there any medical treatment to cure dry heaving?

Advise seeing an MD: "Dry heaving", when seen in the ER can be due to many causes, including any condition or medication which makes the person extremely nauseous (alcohol/drug intoxication, UTI, stomach virus, gallbladder/pancreatic disease, heart attack), or sometimes may be caused by a foreign body stuck in the esophagus. So quick answer is that usually a cause needs to be pursued unless it is obvious.
